Bluetooth is a wireless communication technology designed for portable information devices. As it works at the unlicensed 2.4 GHz band, the adapter is ready for use immediately after it?s installation. Furthermore, the product complies with Version 1.1, the latest Bluetooth standard to enable data transfer rates approaching 723.2 Kbps in asynchronous connection and 439.9 Kbps in symmetrical communication. Bluetooth is also capable of providing reliable wireless data links: while IrDA (an infrared-radiation technology used in peer-to-peer communication) is unable to establish a data link between devices separated by a shielding structure, Bluetooth enables trouble-free

data transmission to distances up to 10 meters even if an obstacle exists between the communicating parties.
